Well, kind of. The title is little bit clickbait, sorry. :-)
You know, the definition of feminism on Wikipedia is “(…) range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve political, economic, personal, and social rights for women.”
I agree with equal rights for men and women. I have nothing against that. Actually, I agree that everybody should have equal rights, not just men and women, for everybody.
But I think a lot of feminist activists are crazy people. It doesn’t look like it’s about the definition of feminism but just craziness. I really hate when I hear “don’t even think about helping me, I’m an independent woman”. I really don’t understand why it should be a problem when the ratio of women to men in some areas is less than 50 percent. I don’t see any reason why women should do men’s job and vice versa.
Don’t take me wrong. I’m not saying you can’t do that. I just don’t see any reasonable reason to force it.
Next statement will be quite probably harsh for someone so take a deep breath: we are not equal. Everyone has a different purpose by nature. Only females can give birth and have the mother instinct to take the best care of the kids and males can protect that family. Also, every culture has different benefits given by nature. For example, white people are not equipped to be faster than Bolt. And so on.
Not that long time ago (and still in some places) when you were born into some society, you had to stay in that social class for your whole life. You had almost no chance to live another life. I want for everyone to have an opportunity to do what they want. But I disagree to create those opportunities artificially. To do some law or movement forcing some ratios so that everyone has to do everything. It’s not good for anybody.
We are different by nature. Let’s not try to be same and use our differences to help each other instead.
By the way when a woman wants to act as a man because of, well, feminism… for me, she loses everything she had for me. She’s not a lady anymore. A lot of women are sad that there are no gentlemen around. Well, why is it so?
I think that those cases are driven by women who haven’t experienced anything good. They don’t realize that the way they act is actually extreme and feels more like a revenge. Be a feminist but don’t try to take revenge – you would be the same. And as a reaction to your extreme requirements you could also be asked to even the ratios in all professions, let’s say the dustmen. I haven’t seen any dustwoman in my whole life!
Don’t exchange one extreme for another one.
