Technology should help us, right? We should be more productive than years ago before technology. Everything should be better, faster, smoother. But it isn’t. Actually, it’s still the same, kind of.
Nowadays, everything is fast. You can say hi to anyone, anywhere. You can find any information all the time. You can share anything you want with everybody. You can order something and, in a few hours, have that order at home. That’s great. But at the same time, it brings other problems. We are addicted to social media. We are overwhelmed with a lot of messages. It’s hard to find useful information; actually, we are lazy to do it. We are impatient. We expect more, and we are depressed when we have to wait.
…
Think about it for a little bit. Just think how you use your phone, for example, and ask yourself if that phone serves you or if that phone ties you up. You are still the one who can change it. You can start by turning off notifications and reply when YOU have time, not when your phone says so. Do not keep apps to bother you. I did that very long time ago and when I meet someone who’s phone is beeping all the time… I really don’t understand he or she can live with it.
After setting your phone, you can continue not to use a phone all the time. Disable notifications on your laptop. Do not read everything. Read-only news from good brands. Which also means stop reading the Facebook feed. And so on and so forth.
