The Three Dancers

In the last months, I discovered one interesting thing. I don’t care about big salsa festivals or any other events anymore. Well, I was never interested in any crowded event, but I wanted to have a lot of good dance partners so I can enjoy the night. Not anymore…

For example, at the last festival in Berlin, I was dancing mostly with a few girls I already knew. Because I know them. I know what they like, I know what I’m allowed to do, I don’t have to socialize over and over again which just takes a lot of energy, I don’t have to look in a crowd which one to ask for a dance, … Simply, it’s comfortable.

I would compare it to movies vs. TV shows. Every movie is something new, and there is uncertainty if it will match my current mood. Or my taste generally. On the other hand, TV shows give in every episode something familiar. I know what to expect from my favorite ones, and I can much easily decide what to watch.

Nothing is black and white, though. Dance all the time with the same ones is not fun either. It’s like eating the same food every day. You can do it a few days in a row, but then you need something else. So that’s why festivals are important for me even after what I just wrote.

(I hope all girls are pleased that I compare them with movies and food. :-D)

In the end, I can enjoy a small party much more than some big one international! I don’t care about a lot of dancers. I care about The Three Dancers I like the most. The good dance party is when I can call it Pablo Picasso night. :-)

Do you have it the same, what do you enjoy? ;-)
